The Band

IVB originated in the early 2000’s. After many years of playing music in separate bands, Bill Vaughn fell in with a father/son combo that had been playing live music together for over a decade. The elder Isaacs had played for years in bars and clubs around the region and the younger Isaacs was a pup to the music scene, having only played live music with his old man.

“The Elder Isaacs ” Rick Isaacs had played many years covering classic rock and country from the early 70’s until the late 80’s. When Rick and his son Travis began playing together, it was in a classic rock acoustic band, with Travis playing drums and percussion’s at the age of 13. After nearly a decade of playing acoustic music, the drive was no longer there. Travis converted to playing the Bass after several years of self taught lessons behind the record player….. It was time for a change

Enter Bill Vaughn…. Bill is one of the best drummers in the area. Playing many styles, his main influence in Jazz added a flavor to the Isaacs combo that would prove to be the X factor.. The birth of the Isaacs Vaughn band arrives.

After several very successful years on the bar and club scene, Bill decided to further his education and time would no longer allow him to commit to playing in a working band. After his departure around 2003, Rick and Travis moved on playing with a couple of different drummers and several different band names.

After a couple of years of playing under the name “Almost Famous” it was time for Bill to reenter the band. After much debate, yet another new name would be used for the Power Trio. “Uncle Willy” was the new name with a new direction. The old IVB had played classic rock and southern rock. It was yet again..time for a change.

The new look IVB (Uncle Willy) was now more focused on playing blues rock and rhythm and blues. After a couple of years of slower times, it was time to change the name back to it’s roots. Isaacs Vaughn Band is back!

The last 6 moths to a year (2009) IVB has been working up a happy medium between the old IVB and “Uncle Willy” . The music ranges from Rock to Blues to some Southern Rock to Rhythm and Blues. We are now ready to Rock Out and eager to play some gigs. It’s time to get back out on the scene once again.
