Thanks to everyone that came out today for the benefit ride. It was a rainy morning so the turnout was low. Although it would have been nice if mother nature would have cooperated, the group that ended up at Flatlanders and stuck around to listen to IVB was a good one!
It was for a good cause and we were gald to be a part of it!

Fifth Freedom (fttp://fifthfreedom.org) is an organization dedicated to helping people with disabilities in a variety of ways (check out the site for more info). Fifth freedom is having a benefit motorcycle ride (details at www.fifthfreedom.org/alertattachments/moto_flyer_4_2009.pdf). The ride starts at Flatlanders Cycles in Hagerstown where Isaacs Vaughn Band will be playing later in the day from 4pm-6pm (or later). We are scheduled to play outside but may move the party indoors in case of rain- rain or shine, we’ll be there supporting a great cause and we would love to see you there, too!
Hello and welcome to the official Isaacs Vaughn blog/website. If you are interested in music from the soul that is played in the moment you’ll probably be into what we play. If pushed to define our genre, I’d have to say that we are a blues/rock/funk band that approaches music with an emphasis on improv that is similar to the great Be-Bop players like Coltrane, Miles, Bird, Dizzy Gillespie, Blakey and Roach. Don’t let the improve scare you though, one thing we are ALWAYS mindful of is laying down a slick groove with a DEEP pocket that anyone can DANCE to.
Currently, we play primarily covers; however, we are working on a few originals right now and have recorded a rough working demo of one of those songs. While we hope to incorporate more originals as we go, we still love taking covers and really making them our own- it’s an art in itself.
